On 24th June, EuroACE held an Informal Session entitled “If I had a hammer – How to do better at EU level for EPBD & EED reviews to deliver jobs & growth for CEE countries?”, in the framework of the first edition of the C4E Forum organised in Bulgaria. The Forum brought together around 175 professionals and those interested in energy efficiency in buildings from governments, industry, NGOs, think-tanks and financial institutions, in order to build a community around this topic in Central and Eastern Europe.
The EuroACE Informal Session gathered around 25 participants from all over Europe and was the opportunity for EuroACE to present the results of its recent series of workshops that discussed how to improve the EPBD. The Session allowed for in-depth discussions on what would be the best ways to improve energy efficiency legislation at EU level in order to have the biggest impact in Central and Eastern Europe, especially in terms of job creation, competitiveness and restoring growth.
The event included presentations from Adrian JOYCE (EuroACE Secretary General), Céline CARRE (Saint-Gobain and EuroACE Vice-President), Hélène SIBILEAU (EuroACE Policy Officer), Jens LAUSTSEN (EPBD Concerted Action Coordinator) and Yamina SAHEB (Senior Energy Policy Analyst from OpenExp). Presentations can be found here.
New contacts for further collaboration and sharing new innovative ideas were established between EU, national and local energy efficiency and buildings experts.
