Efficient Buildings Europe at the second General Assembly of the European Energy Efficiency Financing Coalition
A year after the launch of the European Energy Efficiency Financing Coalition, public authorities, financial institutions and industry gathered again in Brussels on 5 May to discuss how to accelerate energy efficiency in the EU. Our Secretary General, Rémi Collombet, took part in the Coalition’s second General Assembly, hosted by Commissioner Dan Jørgensen.
As citizens and businesses are feeling the impacts of the Iran crisis, there is a shared recognition of the sector’s potential. Secretary of State Busoi (Romania) and Director General for Energy Ennser (Austria) highlighted their plans to accelerate investments in SMEs and residential buildings.
Mirella Vitale, Executive Vice President at our member ROCKWOOL, set out a very clear picture of what the sector needs:
- Policies: stay the course and provide long-term market predictability.
- Facilitate the customer journey, with one-stop shops and attractive financing.
- Accelerate and scale up. The building sector is fragmented, and actors should work together to create project pipelines.
