Efficient Buildings Europe at the Royal Danish Embassy's roundtable on an energy efficient, resilient and affordable building stock

On 7 October, the Royal Danish Embassy to Belgium hosted a roundtable discussion on how to achieve an energy efficient, resilient and affordable building stock in the context of the current implementation of the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD). Our Head of EU Policy, Rémi Collombet, took part in the discussion.

Ambassador Susanne Shine opened the discussion. Ruben Baetens, Manager at the Leuven Institute for Energy and Society, KU Leuven, shared insights on the Flemish approach to building renovation, and Vincent Rudnicki Østergaard, Head of Division for Energy Efficiency and Data at the Danish Energy Agency, presented Denmark’s approach and the benefits of better use of utilities data to reduce energy consumption.

For Rémi, the timely implementation of the EPBD is key to secure investments and deliver affordable, healthy and resilient buildings for EU citizens and businesses.

Many thanks to the Embassy for the invitation.
