Efficient Buildings Europe at the Sustainability in the Built Environment Summit

On 17 June, our Head of EU Policy, Rémi Collombet, gave the morning keynote at the Business Post’s Sustainability in the Built Environment Summit in Dublin, on the challenge of decarbonising Europe’s building stock and what the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD) means for Ireland.

Rémi’s messages:

• Implementing the EPBD is crucial to deliver on competitiveness, affordability and energy security.
• National Building Renovation Plans, due in December 2025, are the first step. National governments must now translate EU targets into national ones, backed by policy measures and funding.
• A lot of material is already available, so use it: data from the EU Building Stock Observatory, EU projects such as EPBD.wise and EU PEERS, and our own Delivering the EPBD webinar series.
