Members of Efficient Buildings Europe with Barbara Glowacka at an Efficient Morning in Brussels

Efficient Morning with Barbara Glowacka, Adviser to the President of the Council of the European Union

Another week, another Efficient Morning at Efficient Buildings Europe! This time, we met with Barbara Glowacka, Adviser to the President of the Council of the European Union, for an open discussion on energy security, competitiveness and the future of energy efficiency beyond 2030.

With energy prices still weighing heavily on households and businesses, we looked at the bigger picture: how can Europe make its energy system more secure while also making energy more affordable?

Renewables, electrification and efficient buildings all form part of the answer. Energy efficiency technologies, solutions and products already available can significantly reduce energy demand and strengthen Europe’s energy security.

Efficient buildings are also an investment in Europe’s competitiveness. They create local jobs, support local economies and strengthen our industrial base. Looking ahead, maintaining this investment will depend on a clear and predictable policy framework, including a strong direction for energy efficiency beyond 2030.

A big thank you to Barbara Glowacka for the valuable discussion, and to our members for their contribution.
