EuroACE Guide to the Implementation of the amended EPBD (2018)

The amendment of the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD) in 2018 was one of the most important changes in the EU buildings sector in 15 years. At last, EU legislators recognised that the biggest challenge in the buildings sector is not the standards we use for our new buildings but the ones we use to renovate our existing ones.

Our Guide to the Implementation of the Amended EPBD is intended for national authorities in charge of transposing the Directive, and for any stakeholder involved in implementing its new provisions on energy efficiency requirements in buildings and building renovation. It covers long-term renovation strategies, building renovation passports, financing, smart and technology-equipped buildings, and the energy performance assessment of buildings.
