EuroACE responds to the public consultation on post-2020 EU climate and energy policy
A binding and meaningful 2030 target for energy efficiency is an imperative milestone towards a competitive and sustainable low-carbon economy by 2050. Within this framework, a binding sectoral target for buildings, responsible for around 40% of EU energy consumption, is a must to secure the needed transformation of the building stock.
EuroACE member companies believe that energy efficiency has to be the starting point in the design of the post-2020 climate and energy framework. Making increased energy efficiency key for the EU’s future competitiveness would help cut energy costs and energy dependency while boosting jobs and growth.
