Infographic: Buildings in the Fit for 55 Package for a Climate Neutral Economy in 2050 (2023 Update)

Launched on the 14th of October 2020, the Renovation Wave Strategy aims at improving the energy performance of buildings.

To achieve at least 55% reduction in GHG emissions by 2030, the EU must reduce GHG emissions from buildings by 60%, their energy consumption by 14%.

In view of these targets, the Renovation Wave Strategy aims to at least double the current energy renovation rate per annum to ultimately deliver the renovation of 35 million building units by 2030.
