Meeting with DG CLIMA on the post-2030 energy efficiency framework

Together with the Coalition for Energy Savings, our Secretary General, Rémi Collombet, met Yvon Slingenberg, Director of Strategy, Analysis and Planning at DG CLIMA, European Commission, and her team. The discussion focused on ensuring that the post-2030 energy efficiency legislative framework is fit to meet Europe’s priorities.

The Coalition reiterated that:

• Energy efficiency is crucial to achieve the 2040 climate target and must be prioritised via a binding EU energy efficiency target.
• The Governance Regulation must remain a driver for energy efficiency policy by providing visibility, regulatory stability and investment certainty for the energy efficiency ecosystem.
• Energy efficiency legislation is central to structurally solving energy poverty and to accompany the entry into force of the ETS2 by providing relief for the most vulnerable.
