Briefing 1/2020: proof of how buildings renovation can help meet the European Green Deal
During the first 100 days of the new European Commission, the Renovate Europe Campaign tracked the development of the European Green Deal with its #GreenDeal4Buildings campaign, arguing that it must include a strategy for the deep energy renovation of the EU building stock.
While the Green Deal is massively ambitious, the vital role of energy efficiency and building renovation is not fully considered. This briefing presents projects already carried out to show that it is technically possible and financially feasible to cut the energy demand of EU buildings by up to 80% on average.
