A “deep” thinking around Minimum Energy Performance Standards
The webinar was part of our 2021 series “Future-proof EPBD: let’s deliver beyond the Renovation Wave!”, held in the context of the European Commission’s public consultation on the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD).
This first webinar explored the introduction of Minimum Energy Performance Standards (MEPS), their regulatory nature and how these policy instruments fit into the EPBD ‘architecture’, including their alignment with the EU climate goals and linkages with long-term renovation strategies. We also looked at which embedded elements could support their rapid roll-out and help ensure higher and deeper renovation rates for buildings in the EU.
Presentations:
- Introducing MEPS via the EPBD: where to start? – Jonathan Volt, Buildings Performance Institute Europe (BPIE)
- How to design and implement MEPS? A deep dive into best practices and examples – Louise Sunderland, Regulatory Assistance Project (RAP)
- One-Stop Shops as embedded framework to support MEPS: the ORFEE model – Françoise Refabert, Energies Demain & ORFEE
The webinar was moderated by Adrian Joyce, Secretary General of EuroACE.
