EuroACE/ENEA workshop on EPBD and EED implementation in Italy
On 24 February 2015, EuroACE and ENEA, the Italian National Agency for New Technologies, Energy and Sustainable Economic Development, organised a workshop in Rome on the implementation of the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD) and the Energy Efficiency Directive (EED) to stimulate energy efficiency in buildings in Italy. EuroACE member company Danfoss sponsored the event.
After a welcome from Maria Cristina Corazza, Sub-Commissioner of ENEA, Adrian Joyce, Secretary General of EuroACE, presented the main aspects of the two Directives and their implications for the existing building stock in Italy. Mauro Mallone (Ministry of Economic Development) and Antonio Strambaci (Ministry of the Environment) gave the view of the Italian Government, including on renovation roadmaps, and Roberto Matina (Danfoss) gave the perspective of an energy efficiency stakeholder.
In the afternoon, FIRE, IRENE, GBC Italia and FINCO shared their views on the uptake of energy efficiency in buildings in Italy, before an open discussion on the opportunities and threats to good implementation. Ezilda Costanzo (ENEA) closed the workshop.
The workshop was chaired by Bruno Pedrotti (Philips), Chair of the EuroACE Working Group on Implementation of Directives.
