Skills through the multi-annual financial framework, building renovation in the Mediterranean area

A trained workforce and skilled public administrations will be essential to deliver a highly energy-efficient building stock. Co-organised with Energy Cities, for the Interreg MED Efficient Buildings Community, and the European Federation of Building and Woodworkers (EFBWW), this 90-minute online conversation looked at how to increase the availability of a qualified workforce for energy renovation, particularly of public buildings.

Speakers explored how to make the most of the 2021-2027 Multiannual Financial Framework and the Just Transition Fund to upskill workers, local stakeholders and administrations, with a focus on Croatia, France, Greece, Italy, Slovenia and Spain. Adrian Joyce, Director of the Renovate Europe Campaign, explained why workforce upskilling is so important to deliver renovation schemes, alongside DG EMPL, the EFBWW and CINEA.
