EE Global 2020, 30 June 2020, Energy Efficiency and Economic Recovery: lessons from the Great Recession in the EU and U.S., by the Alliance to Save Energy and Renovate Europe

Energy efficiency and economic recovery, lessons from the Great Recession in the EU and US

The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act and the European Economic Recovery Plan were two massive stimulus packages passed in 2009 to counter the economic slowdown. The Renovate Europe Campaign and the Alliance to Save Energy organised this webinar, part of the EE Global series, on the role energy efficiency can play in accelerating economic recovery, what these packages achieved, and how they can inform today’s recovery plans.

Speakers were Pernille Weiss MEP, Peter Sweatman (Climate Strategy & Partners), Yamina Saheb (OpenEXP), Stacey Paradis (Midwest Energy Efficiency Alliance), Timothy Unruh (NAESCO) and Lisa Jacobson (Business Council for Sustainable Energy), with remarks by Clay Nesler, Alliance to Save Energy, and Adrian Joyce, Director of the Renovate Europe Campaign.
