Efficient Buildings Europe at the Commission's High-Level Stakeholder Dialogue on Energy Efficiency

On 20 May, our Head of EU Policy, Rémi Collombet, took part in the European Commission’s High-Level Stakeholder Dialogue on Energy Efficiency, hosted by Commissioner Dan Jørgensen in Brussels.

The discussions were constructive and highlighted some of the challenges to deliver in this sector: policy predictability, the electricity-to-gas price ratio, financing and workforce availability.

But also the huge opportunities: the energy efficiency industry is an EU success story that can be scaled up. Most technologies and products are manufactured in the EU and offer solutions to our current challenges: security, affordability and competitiveness.

Participants welcomed two announcements:

• The meeting was the start of the Commission’s engagement with the energy efficiency industry.
• The European Energy Efficiency Financing Coalition will launch a call to widen its membership beyond financial institutions.
