A Healthy Dose of Building Efficiency at COP30
A healthy dose of energy efficiency is key for a green transition that serves our climate, the economy and people. That was the key premise of “A Healthy Dose of Building Efficiency”, the session hosted by Efficient Buildings Europe and our member VELUX at the State of Green Denmark Pavilion at COP30 in Belém.
Representatives from VELUX, the World Green Building Council, Saint-Gobain and Daikin delivered a straightforward message: energy-efficient technologies for cooling, insulation and digital optimisation are many, as are the support systems that help their uptake, such as one-stop shops that relieve the burden on building owners.
What we need to enhance is investment, integration and industrial-scale deployment. And the time to address them is today, because the benefits of doing so, and the risks of not doing it, are substantial, not just for our climate but also for the health and well-being of people.
