Renovate Europe Day 2020, #Renovate2Recover

#Renovate2Recover

Energy renovation stands at the intersection of the EU’s green priorities and growth objectives and is the linchpin of the EU’s recovery. Renovate Europe Day 2020 asked what lessons can be learnt from France, Italy and Ireland about prioritising energy renovation in the National Recovery Plans, and how the Renovation Wave can channel EU recovery funds into buildings to boost the rate and quality of renovation across the EU. The conference was held online, with interpretation in English, French and Italian.

Speakers included Marjolaine Meynier-Millefert, Member of the French Assemblée Nationale, Italian Vice-Minister for the Economy Antonio Misiani and Irish Minister Eamon Ryan. “This is YOUR moment,” said Executive Vice-President Frans Timmermans, referring to the National Recovery and Resilience Plans: “I have never seen such enthusiasm from Member States for any initiative (…) they know that renovation is low-hanging fruit for low emissions and job creation.”

National events. National partners of the campaign organised six national Renovate Europe Day events, including in Ireland on the Renovation Wave and national actions, in Austria and in Slovenia on renovation in the recovery plans, in Greece on smart, efficient buildings and in Bulgaria on renovation for the recovery.
