The Buildings Directive – Halfway There?
The energy crisis has highlighted the inefficiency of Europe’s building stock, profoundly impacting citizens and businesses. But proven solutions can drastically increase our resilience to shocks. Years of inaction and low renovation rates can be reversed.
Now is the time to embrace the challenge and make Europe’s buildings future proof. It is a unique opportunity to improve living conditions and tackle energy poverty, while creating new business opportunities for European workers.
Energy efficiency in buildings has never been more important and now is the time for ambition.
At the very beginning of interinstitutional negotiations on the EPBD, and ahead of the publication of the report of the European Parliament on the Net-Zero Industry Act, this event enabled EU policymakers, business leaders and key stakeholders to gather and share their views on the role of energy efficient buildings in the EU and to show their readiness to support the implementation of the EPBD.
Speakers:
• Frauke Thies, Executive Director, Agora Energiewende (moderator)
• Energy Minister Claude Turmes (Luxembourg)
• Anne Weidenbach, Cabinet of Commissioner Simson
• Philippe Delorme, Executive Vice President Europe, Schneider Electric
• Fleming Voetmann, Vice President, VELUX
• Quentin Galland, Group Public & Regulatory Affairs Director, Knauf Insulation
The one-hour discussion will be followed by a networking cocktail.
